Research

SPM team members are actively engaged in academic pursuits and pain medicine research.  We are dedicated to making a meaningful contribution to the evidence base for the treatment and management of pain and its associated challenges.

Current areas of research interest include: 
  • low back pain
  • phantom limb pain
  • pelvic pain
  • vertebral crush fractures
  • fractured humerus
  • rectus sheath catheters for laparotomy
  • The Brachial Plexus Project. 
  • the mechanism of neuromodulation 
  • the origin of pain
