For referring doctors...

We specialise in assisting patients to improve their overall quality of life by treating painful symptoms which will  improve general function.
An assessment typically involves:
  • full medical history and examination
  • medication review
  • discussion leading to a treatment pathway
  • diagnostic procedures (if appropriate) will be scheduled at a later time

Referral Pathways

Referrals for privately funded patients are accepted. Referrals are triaged by Dr Cornish and appointments offered at the earliest opportunity. A comprehensive letter will be sent to the referring doctor following the consultation. Dr Cornish will liaise with general practitioners and other interested parties as required.
We regretfully do not accept patients under WorkCover or Third Party Insurers.

All referrals should be addressed to Dr Cornish at Specialised Pain Medicine and where possible include details on:
  • history, examination and investigations related to presenting pain problem
  • previous treatment, including medications, pertaining to pain problem
  • medical history
  • social history
  • patient's contact details
