Neuromodulation - a background ...
Background
Neuromodulation is an interventional pain treatment which can be effective for persistent pain. Wires are inserted in a specific part of the body and an electrical current is applied through the wires via an implanted battery to lessen the pain.
The technology has been in use around the world since the 1960s. Indications for its use have gradually increased as innovations have occurred.
At Specialised Pain Medicine Dr Cornish uses neuromodulation to achieve a successful result in pain reduction. A very specific process, (CPS Pathway ®)
has been developed to examine and diagnose your source of pain, to plan your treatment using neuromodulation and to give you all the resources to enable you to make an informed decision about proceeding with this treatment.
